  • Netherfield Lagoons - 2 Spotted Flycatcher, 1 Green Sandpiper, 4 Golden Plover, 3 Hobby, 5 Yellow Wagtail, 1 Cetti's Warbler, 2 Willow Tit, 3 Lesser Whitethroat, 2 Garden Warbler, 4 Eurasian Teal, Blackcap, Sedge Warbler, Chiffchaff, Common Whitethroat, Willow Warbler, Greenfinch, Goldfinch, Linnet.
  • Budby Pumping Station - 8 Eurasian Teal, 2 Green Sandpiper, 1 Lesser Spotted Woodpecker [with tit flock by bridge], 24 Siskin, 75+ Linnet.
  • Welbeck Lakes - 1 Mandarin Duck [single female], Goshawk [sat on fence across lake from the feeding point], 4 Spotted Flycatcher [to the right of the feeding point].

  • Collingham - New Workings: 15 Little Egret, 2 Little Ringed Plover, 1 Ringed Plover, 1 Dunlin, 1 Common Greenshank, 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Common Sandpiper.
  • Kilvington - West Lake: 3 Little Egret, 1 Ringed Plover, 1 Dunlin, 2 Yellow Wagtail.
  • Cotham Flash - 1 Common Greenshank.
  • Welbeck Lakes - 1 Osprey [flew through at 12:50], 2 Common Buzzard, 1 Honey Buzzard [being mobbed by Common Buzzards].

Fri 29th Aug

  • Budby Pumping Station - 96 Northern Lapwing, Sparrowhawk [adult male on post near the roadside hedge], 25 Linnet [on power lines], Willow Warbler, Long Tailed Tit, Hobby [over woods], 3 Common Buzzard.
  • Eakring - Eakring to Kneesall: 1 Yellow-legged Gull, c.700 Lesser Black-backed Gull [with Yellow-legged Gull]. Penny Pasture: 1 Spotted Flycatcher.
  • Bothamsall - 1 Garganey, 11 Eurasian Teal, 1 Common Shelduck, 2 Common Greenshank, 3 Green Sandpiper, 15+ Yellow Wagtail.

  • Collingham - New Workings: 1 Mandarin Duck, 5 Little Egret, 1 Common Greenshank, 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Common Sandpiper.

  • Attenborough Nature Reserve - Yellow-legged Gull [by Visitor Centre], Red-crested Pochard [female on Tween Pond], 2 Little Egret, Kingfisher [Clifton Pit].
  • Budby Pumping Station - 2 Northern Shoveler, 5 Eurasian Teal, 1 Honey Buzzard, [low, over to North-East], 58 Coot, 8 Siskin, 12 Gadwall, 2 Kingfisher, Little Grebe [with 3 young], Willow Warbler.
  • Bothamsall - 2 Garganey, 2 Common Greenshank, 3 Green Sandpiper, 17 Eurasian Teal, 17 Common Snipe, 1 Yellow Wagtail.

  • Nottingham - Wryneck [possible in a garden in The Park - 14:00].
  • Budby Pumping Station - 1 Common Sandpiper, 2 Willow Warbler, 1 Common Buzzard, 2 Chiffchaff.
  • Oxton Estate - 50 Northern Lapwing.
  • Bestwood Country Park - Mill Lakes: 1 Kingfisher, 1 Eurasian Teal, 1 Gadwall, 1 Cormorant, 1 Grey Heron. Bestwood Quarry: 1 Curlew [over heading West], 2 Green Woodpecker, 1 Sparrowhawk.
  • Hoveringham - Ruddy Shelduck [on Railway Lake - probably the Kilvington bird].

  • Budby Pumping Station - 1 Common Pochard, 1 Mandarin Duck [female flying North], 20+ Gadwall, 1 Spotted Flycatcher, 20+ Siskin.
  • Bothamsall - 1 Common Greenshank, 3 Green Sandpiper, 1 Common Snipe, 1 Eurasian Teal, 20+ Yellow Wagtail, 2 Spotted Flycatcher.

Fri 22nd Aug

  • Budby Pumping Station - Siskin, Willow Warbler, Wood Warbler [showing well], 12+ Long-tailed Tit, 1 Blackcap [female], Common Whitethroat, Chiffchaff, Greenfinch, Linnet, Goldfinch [large flocks mixing with Linnets and Greenfinches], 2 Common Buzzard, Sparrowhawk [female], Ring Ouzel [flying through the site North to South].
  • Stanton on the Wolds - 2 Lesser Whitethroat [pair], Blackcap [family group], Bullfinch [immature].
  • Collingham - New Workings: 5 Little Egret, 1 Common Greenshank, 1 Green Sandpiper, 2 Common Sandpiper.

  • Arnot Hill Park - 4 Tawny Owl [including 2 young], 39 Black-headed Gull, 5 Herring Gull, 62 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Northern Wheatear [female], 2 Jackdaw, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Greater Spotted Woodpecker, 1 Peregrine [fly-over].
  • Chilwell - 1 Raven [flying North and calling].

  • Rolleston - River Trent: 2 Stonechat [pair showing well], 1 Kingfisher [juvenile learning to fish from rocks], 2 Common Shelduck.
  • Collingham - New Workings: 4 Little Egret, 1 Green Sandpiper, 2 Common Sandpiper.
  • Cotham Flash - 2 Common Greenshank, 1 Common Sandpiper.
  • Silverhill Wood - c.200 Goldfinch [on thistle heads].
  • Kilvington - West Lake: 1 Ruddy Turnstone, 1 Sanderling, 1 Little Egret, 1 Green Sandpiper, 2 Common Sandpiper, 3 Ringed Plover. East Lake: 11 Yellow-legged Gull, 165 Lesser Blacked-backed Gull, 1 Herring Gull.

  • Kilvington - West Lake: 1 Peregrine, 1 Whimbrel, 7 Turtle Dove, 2 Common Sandpiper, 6 Ringed Plover, 3 Common Swift. East Lake: 6 Yellow-legged Gull, 159 Lesser Black-backed Gulls.
  • Attenborough Nature Reserve - Clifton Pit: Common Greenshank, 5 Little Egret, 3 Dunlin, Common Sandpiper, Common Snipe, Yellow-legged Gull, Common Gull, Kingfisher [sighted regularly].

Mon 18th Aug

  • Attenborough Nature Reserve - Clifton Pit: 1 Little Egret, 1 Wood Sandpiper [feeding on mud next to the Clifton Pit reedbeds seen from Barton Lane], 1 Mediterranean Gull [adult], 1 Common Sandpiper.
  • Collingham - New Workings: 1 Little Egret, 1 Common Greenshank, 4 Green Sandpiper, 2 Common Sandpiper.
  • Kilvington - East Lake: 2 Yellow-legged Gull. West Lake: 1 Ruddy Shelduck [unknown origin], 2 Little Egret, 1 Green Sandpiper, 2 Common Sandpiper, 1 Yellow-legged Gull.
  • Holme Pierrepont - 16 Common Tern [feeding on fish on rowing course].

Sun 17th Aug

  • Budby Pumping Station - Goldfinch, Greenfinch, Linnet [all finches in large mixed flock], Spotted Flycatcher.
  • Welbeck Lakes - 1 Herring Gull, 4 Common Buzzard, 1 Yellow-legged Gull.
  • Holme Pierrepont - Spotted Redshank [A52 Pit], Little Egret.
  • Kilvington - West Lake: 1 Ruddy Shelduck [unknown origin], 2 Little Egret, 6 Common Greenshank, 3 Green Sandpiper, 2 Common Sandpiper, 3 Northern Shoveler, 9 Eurasian Teal, 8 Common Shelduck, 1 Ringed Plover. East Lake: 5 Yellow-legged Gull.

  • Collingham - New Workings: 3 Little Egret, 2 Dunlin, 1 Common Greenshank, 7 Green Sandpiper, 2 Common Sandpiper.
  • Cotham Flash: - 2 Eurasian Curlew [fly-over], 2 Common Greenshank.
  • Kilvington - West Lake: 1 Marsh Harrier [juvenile], 2 Yellow-legged Gull.

Fri 15th Aug

  • Kings Mill Reservoir - 1 Egyptian Goose, 4 Common Tern [including 2 juveniles].
  • Budby Pumping Station - Willow Warbler, Peregrine [male on top of electricity pole].
  • Welbeck Lakes - 4 Common Buzzard, Willow Tit, Coal Tit, Treecreeper.
  • Rolleston - River Trent: 1 Goosander [female - good views of an abiding bird], 1 Kingfisher, 1 Hobby.

Thu 14th Aug

  • Collingham - New Workings: 3 Little Egret, 6 Green Sandpiper, 2 Common Sandpiper.
  • Kilvington - East Lake: 5 Yellow-legged Gull. West Lake: 1 Ruddy Shelduck [unknown origin], 2 Little Egret.

Wed 13th Aug

  • Kings Mill Reservoir - Mandarin Duck [drake again showing well early morning], 3 Dunlin [through to the West].
  • Kilvington - West Lake: 1 Ruddy Shelduck [unknown origin], 2 Little Egret, 2 Ringed Plover. East Lake: 4 Yellow-legged Gull.
  • Holme Pierrepont - 1 Marsh Harrier [female/immature observed hunting several times between about 10:00 and 11:00], 1 Common Greenshank, 1 Dunlin, 2 Hobby [being mobbed by a Sparrowhawk], Sparrowhawk, 4 Kingfisher, 1 Willow Tit, Common Swift [steady passage with hirundines all morning].

Tue 12th Aug

  • Kings Mill Reservoir - 2 Common Pochard [males], 2 Little Grebe, c.4 Common Tern.

Mon 11th Aug

  • Collingham - New Workings: 1 Common Greenshank, 4 Green Sandpiper, 2 Common Sandiper.
  • Kilvington - 5 Common Buzzard, 5 Grey Partridge. East Lake: 1 Marsh Harrier [juvenile in the area], 1 Yellow-legged Gull. West Lake: 2 Common Sandpiper.

Sun 10th Aug

  • Annesley Pit Top - 1 Black-necked Grebe [Bottom lagoon].
  • Budby Pumping Station - 5 Little Grebe [3 adults and 2 juveniles], 70 Greylag Goose, 12 Northern Lapwing, Tufted Duck [including juveniles], 1 Little Egret.
  • Welbeck Lakes - 5 Goldfinch, 6 Grey Heron [5 adults and 1 juvenile], Lesser Black-backed Gull, 2 Great Crested Grebe [now carrying young on thier backs], Yellow-legged Gull, Great Black-backed Gull, 5 Tufted Duck [plus young].
  • Bentinck Void - Little Egret [Present from at least 06:00-09:00. Seen to fly westwards at 09:00 but may have remained on site].
  • Budby Pumping Station - 1 Little Egret, 1 Common Greenshank, 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Peregrine [flew low and East], 84 Greylag Goose, 2 Mandarin Duck, 1 Yellow Wagtail, 42 Siskin.
  • Teversal Pastures - 15 Mistle Thrush.

Sat 9th Aug

  • Collingham - New Workings: 340 Greylag Goose, 2 Little Egret, 8 Green Sandpiper.
  • Welbeck Lakes - 4 Hobby [viewed from feeding point - hunting hirundines and swifts], 4+ Common Buzzard, Common Tern.
  • Kilvington - New Lake: 3 Little Egret, 2 Peregrine, 3 Yellow-legged Gull, 1 Dunlin, 1 Common Sandpiper, 2 Ringed Plover, 1 Common Buzzard, 1 Common Tern, 10 Great Creasted Grebe, 5 Little Grebe.

  • Kings Mill Reservoir - Mandarin Duck [drake showing well again 06:00].
  • Collingham - New Workings: 4 Little Egret, 4 Green Sandpiper, 3 Common Sandpiper.
  • Langford Lowfields - 550 Northern Lapwing, 1 Common Greenshank, 2 Green Sandpiper.

Tue 5th Aug

  • Attenborough Nature Reserve - 2 Common Sandpiper, 2 Common Snipe, Yellow-legged Gull.
  • Collingham - New Workings: 5 Little Egret, 1 Common Greenshank, 8 Green Sandpiper, 2 Common Sandpiper. Silt Pond: 1 Common Sandpiper.
  • Kilvington - West Lake: 1 Green Sandpiper, 5 Common Sandpiper.
  • Arnold - 2 Wood Warbler [in garden trees next to Arnold High School playing fields].
  • Kings Mill Reservoir - Mandarin Duck [drake], 2 Whimbrel [through to the North West].

Mon 4th Aug

  • Kilvington - Little Egret, Shelduck [pair], Common Buzzard.
  • Attenborough Nature Reserve - Kingfisher, Oystercatcher, Common Buzzard.

Sun 3rd Aug

  • Kirklington - 2 Red Kite [drifting towards Southwell].
  • Hoveringham - Glossy Ibis [on Railway Lake - bird was seen flying East above the railway line, below power lines. It then turned right over the lake losing height and disappeared behind a stand of trees and was lost to sight. Bird not relocated].
  • Kilvington - 1 Greenshank, 3 Common Sandpiper, 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Dunlin [juvenile], 6 Stock Dove. Plus: 7 Brown Hares.
  • Collingham - 3 Little Egret.
  • Welbeck Lakes - 2 Shelduck [flying East to West].
  • Kings Mill Reservoir - Mandarin Duck [drake with 2 young].
  • Budby Pumping Station - 2 Little Egret, 1 Mandarin Duck [female, flew off east], 24 Gadwall, 3 Kingfisher, 1 Common Whitethroat, 7 Siskin.

Sat 2nd Aug

  • Spalford Warren NWT - 8 Common Crossbill.
  • Welbeck Lakes - Hobby [sat on fence opposite feeding point]. Little Grebe [juvenile], Common Buzzard, Treecreeper, Willow Tit, Nuthatch.
  • Budby Pumping Station - 2 Yellow Wagtail [juveniles], Grey Wagtail, Common Whitethroat [on the left of the bridge], 29 Northern Lapwing.
  • Kilvington - New Lake: 1 Black-necked Grebe [summer plumage], 2 Little Egret, 1 Northern Wheatear, 2 Whimbrel, 4 Yellow-legged Gull, 1 Kingfisher, 3 Common Sandpipers, 1 Green Sandpiper, 103 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 1 Herring Gull, 1 Common Buzzard, 2 Common Pochard, 8 Little Grebe, 8 Great Creasted Grebe.

Fri 1st Aug

  • Nottingham - 1 Grey Wagtail [juvenile being fed by 1 adult on roof top in the Guildhall Complex on Burton Street].
  • Hoveringham Gravel Pits - 1 Black-tailed Godwit [on Railway Lake].
  • Cossall - Nottingham Canal: Hobby, 3 Common Whitethroat, 2 Lesser Whitethroat, 5 Linnet. Plus: Emerald Damselfly, Water Vole.
