Bestwood Country Park - Pit Tip: 4 Grey Partridge, 10 Fieldfare. Mill Lakes: 1 Water Rail [Mud Island], 7 Common Pochard, 1 Kingfisher, 2 Little Grebe. Bestwood Quarry: 4 Pied Wagtail [all 1st winter birds in Broad Valley Stables' Horse Paddock].

Attenborough Nature Reserve - Willow Tit, 6 Fieldfare, Redwing, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Eurasian Wigeon [good numbers in Delta area], Gadwall [good numbers in Delta area], Shoveler, Eurasian Teal [Tween Pond scrape], Goldcrest, Long-tailed Tit [in flocks], 2 Common Snipe, 175 Northern Lapwing.
Collingham - New Workings: 2 Common Goldeneye, 1 Common Redshank, 3 Green Sandpiper.
Besthorpe - Pit north of Collingham New Workings: 6 Common Snipe, 1 Common Redshank.
Langford Lowfields - 16 Shoveler, 2 Northern Pintail, 1 Common Redshank, c.250 Fieldfare.

Mon 29th Oct

Lound - Pectoral Sandpiper [juvenile on NWT Hanson's Pit - North of Chainbridge. Flushed from Hanson's Pit, then found again in SE corner of Walter's Lane pit].

Holme Pierrepont - A52 Pit: 3 Common Redshank, Common Snipe, 12 Common Goldeneye, 14 Redwing, Chiffchaff, Meadow Pipit. Blott's Pit: 3 Common Redshank, Common Snipe.

Sat 27th Oct

Annesley Pit Top - 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 1 Goldcrest, 3 Little Grebe, 2 Gadwall.
Bilsthorpe - Green Sandpiper [in muddy field with the pigs].
Budby Common - 14 Yellowhammer, 25 Fieldfare, Goldcrest, 2 Sparrowhawk, 2 Green Woodpecker, 3 Little Grebe.

Attenborough Nature Reserve - 1 Bittern [roosting in the Delta reedbde opposite the hide], 1000+ Jackdaw , 600+ Rook [into the roost], 35 Eurasian Wigeon, 45 Gadwall, 20 Eurasian Teal 20, 30 Redwing, 3 Fieldfare, 3 Treecreeper, 2 Willow Tit, 3 Lesser Redpoll.
Netherfield Lagoons - Slurry Lagoon: 2 Merlin [male at noon, female at dusk], 2 Northern Pintail [male & female], 53 European Golden Plover, 2 Common Redshank, Common Snipe, 3 Water Rail, 9 Meadow Pipit [over to south], 3 Green Woodpecker, 50 Fieldfare, 35 Redwing, 35 Long-tailed Tit, 2200 Starling [roost at dusk], 5 Common Gull, 4 Great Black-backed Gull, 9 Lesser Black-backed Gull, Argentine Blue-bill, 24 Greylag Geese [after dark].

Attenborough Nature Reserve - 39 Bewick's Swan [on Clifton Pit directly in front of Barton Lane hide - including only 3 juveniles].

Holme Pierrepont - Rowing Course: Common Redshank. Blott's Pit: 3 Common Redshank, Common Snipe, 2 Common Goldeneye.
Budby Common - Pied Wheatear [1st winter female].
Attenborough Nature Reserve - 1 Bittern [Wet Marsh], Little Grebe [Church Pond near Tern Platform], 1 Common Goldeneye [female, Clifton Pit].

Collingham - 4 Little Egret, 1 Kingfisher [male], 1 Common Snipe, Shoveler, Eurasian Teal, Fieldfare [large numbers over].
Besthorpe - 4 Common Snipe, 4 Little Egret, Fieldfare [large numbers over].
Attenborough Nature Reserve - Great White Egret [seen for a short time].
Annesley Pit Top - c.3 Lesser Redpoll, 2 Green Woodpecker, 1 Kingfisher, 2 Red-crested Pochard, 1 Fieldfare.
Holme Pierrepont - Blott's Pit: 5 Whooper Swan, 3 Common Redshank, 5 Common Snipe, 10 Common Goldeneye, 15 Redwing. A52 Pit: 3 Water Rail, 2 Jay.

Sat 20th Oct

Stanton-on-the-Wolds - c.25 Redwing, c.25 Fieldfare [Fieldfares feeding on berries, Redwings digging for worms. Flew west. Probably also accompanied by some migrant blackbirds.]
Attenborough Nature Reserve - Delta: Northern Pintail [male on New Lagoon], Water Rail, 2 Fieldfare. Clifton Pit: Jack Snipe, 2 Common Snipe, 35 Tree Sparrow.
Netherfield Lagoons - 200 Fieldfare [flying West over Severn Trent land. 70-80 stayed on the surrounding fields all afternoon], 12 Redwing, 1 Merlin, 2 Sparrowhawk, 2 Common Buzzard, 6 Siskin, 5 Yellowhammer [and up to 12 around Severn Trent land], 2 Northern Pintail [on slurry lagoon], 5 Common Snipe, c.4 Water Rail [calling around the site and good views of one in flight], 1 Chiffchaff, 30 European Golden Plover, c.28 Redwing [including 25 on stubble fields].

Holme Pierrepont - Arctic Tern [feeding over rowing course in front of boat sheds].
Edwalton - 110 Pink-footed Goose [over to SE at 10:30].

Mansfield - Gannet [immature bird taken into care].
Collingham - New Workings: 1 Little Egret, 3 Common Snipe, 1 Common Greenshank, 7 Green Sandpiper.
Besthorpe - Pit north of Collingham New Workings: 1 Whooper Swan [adult], 4 Common Snipe.
Girton Gravel Pits - 1 Greater Scaup [1st winter female].
Langford Lowfields - 1 Ringed Plover, 2 Stonechat.
Holme Pierrepont - Arctic Tern [preening and feeding at the boathouse end of the rowing lagoon].

Holme Pierrepont - Arctic Tern. A52 Pit: 300 Eurasian Wigeon, 7 Common Goldeneye, Common Snipe.
Kirklington - NE of town: 6 Common Buzzard, 1 Yellow-legged Gull [adult winter].

Attenborough Nature Reserve - Main Pit: 2 Grey Wagtail. Clifton Pit: 3 Little Egret, 3 Water Rail, Jack Snipe, Yellow-legged Gull, 2 Common Gull, 2 Redwing, Grey Wagtail. Erewash Field: 2 Stonechat [male & female], 14 Meadow Pipit, Great Spotted Woodpecker.
Kneeton - 500 European Golden Plover.
Screveton - 1 Merlin.
Annesley Pit Top - 2 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 5 Bullfinch, 4 Shoveler, 4 Eurasian Teal, 5 Stonechat [2 males near the top lagoon, 1 male & 2 females near the bottom lagoon].
Collingham - 100+ Redwing, New Workings: 1 Common Goldeneye, 100 European Golden Plover, 1 Common Snipe, 1 Common Greenshank, 4 Green Sandpiper, 1 Kingfisher.
Besthorpe - Pit north of Collingham New Workings: 6 Common Snipe.
Langford Lowfields - 5 Little Egret, 1 Northern Pintail, 1 Common Snipe, 1 Ringed Plover.
Bestwood Country Park - Pit Tip: 2 Reed Bunting, 4+ Lesser Redpoll [Edge of plantation, feeding on Alder], 2+ Meadow Pipit, 6+ Skylark, 2 Green Woodpecker.
Gunthorpe Gravel Pits - 1 Jack Snipe, 6 Common Snipe, 6 Brambling.

Attenborough Nature Reserve - Kingfisher, Jack Snipe, Mediterranean Gull [adult], 3 Little Egret, Brambling, 70+ Redwing, Siskin, 5 Lesser Redpoll, Pink-footed Goose,Yellow-legged Gull, Grey Wagtail, Jay, Red-crested Pochard, Common Goldeneye.
Netherfield Lagoons - Fly-ash Pit: 190 Northern Lapwing, 18 Common Snipe, 14 European Golden Plover, 36 Shoveler, Northern Pintail [female], 9 Meadow Pipit, Argentine Blue-bill, Common Buzzard. Fishing Pit: 120 Eurasian Wigeon, Hobby.
Stoke Bardolph Sewerage Works - Green Sandpiper, 5 Common Snipe, 30 Eurasian Teal.

Felley - 2 Stonechat [pair on hedge and fence-posts, flying out over Brassica field or down to path].
Colwick Country Park - 2 Grey Wagtail, Yellow-legged Gull, Lesser Black-backed Gull, West Lake: 5 Red-crested Pochard, 14 Common Pochard, Meadow Pipit, Fieldfare [single to North-East].

Wed 10th Oct

Bestwood Country Park - Pit Tip: Stonechat [Male still present on Pit Top am], Whinchat [Female/1st winter present on Pit Top am].
North Leverton - Garden Bird Feeder: 1 Tree Sparrow, Wren, Willow Tit [ringed individual].
Collingham - New Workings: 2 Little Egret [early], 6 Common Snipe, 1 Common Greenshank, 3 Green Sandpiper.
Langford Lowfields - 1 Ringed Plover.

Colwick Country Park - Hall Lake: 5 Shoveler. West Lake: 16 Eurasian Wigeon. Trout Lake: Hobby, 6 Red-crested Pochard, 6 Gadwall, Mandarin, Black Swan, 3 Great Spotted Woodpecker.
Netherfield Lagoons - Bar-tailed Godwit, Dusky Warbler, 1 Ruddy Turnstone, 1 Northern Pintail.
Bestwood Country Park - Stonechat [pit top].
West Bridgford - 1 Parakeet [presumed escape of unreported species near the Toll Bridge].
Collingham - New Workings: 6 Little Egret [left early], 2 Dunlin, 3 Common Greenshank, 7 Green Sandpiper, 1 Common Sandpiper.
Langford Lowfields - 6 Little Egret, 1 Ringed Plover.
Wollaton Park - Red-crested Pochard [female on lake - possibly same bird that spent last winter on the lake].

Netherfield Lagoons - Dusky Warbler [All day - in bushes between entrance by the maggot factory and the viaduct. Flew across Trent at 18:40], 1 Northern Pintail, 1 Ruff, 1 Ringed Plover, 1 Rock Pipit, 6 Common Snipe, 10 Siskin, 1 Redwing, 2 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 70 European Golden Plover, 1 Northern Wheatear, 11 Skylark, 18 Swallow [in one group hawking over the Deep Water Pit], c.30 Blackbird [around the whole site, well above normal numbers for the site].
Attenborough Nature Reserve - 3 Little Egret [Clifton Pit], Yellow-legged Gull [near Centre on blue buoy], 10+ Tree Sparrow [on feeders near Clifton Pit hide].
Holme Pierrepont - A52 Pit: Peregrine, Common Buzzard, Common Snipe, Stonechat. Blott's Pit: 2 Northern Pintail, 5 Common Snipe.
Annesley Pit Top - 3 Jay, 5 Redwing, 1 Bullfinch, 2 Stonechat, 1 Kingfisher.
Gunthorpe - Red-breasted Merganser [1 until at least 08:00 on largest pit nearest Trent].

Sat 6th Oct

Hoveringham Gravel Pits - Sailing Lake: 2 Common Snipe, Green Sandpiper, 2 Common Gull, 4 Red-legged Partridge, Grey Partridge. River Pit: Northern Pintail [female], Railway Lake: 90 Eurasian Wigeon, 70 Common Pochard, 220 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 7 Herring Gull, 5 Greater Black-backed Gull, 2 Yellow-Legged Gull, Common Snipe.
Attenborough - Marsh Tit, Willow Tit, 20 Swallow [feeding over Main Pond and seen from the bund].
Annesley Pit Top - 3 Stonechat [a pair around the bottom lagoon & 1 female in the lower fields], Kingfisher [bottom lagoon - quite rare at this site], 1 Jay, 2 Green Woodpecker.
Bestwood Country Park - Mill Lakes: 7 Common Snipe [Mud Island], 6 Shoveler, 1 Little Grebe, 1 Kingfisher.

Collingham - New Workings: c.150 Pink-footed Goose [flying West), 6 Common Snipe, 1 Common Greenshank, 3 Green Sandpiper, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Kingfisher.
Langford Lowfields - 4 Little Egret, 1 Common Greenshank, 1 Stonechat.
Netherfield Lagoons - Slurry Lagoon: Water Rail, Common Snipe, 90 Northern Lapwing, 14 European Golden Plover [on field], 15 Gadwall, 16 Shoveler, 20 Eurasian Teal, 2 Common Pochard, 5 Meadow Pipit [to SW]. Fishing Pit: 50 Eurasian Wigeon.
Stoke Bardolph Sewerage Works - Grey Wagtail, 25 Linnet, 3 Common Snipe.
Sutton Bonington - 4 Common Buzzard [circling high over Agricultural College], Great Spotted Woodpecker [River Soar towpath], Blackcap [male], 4 Long-tailed Tit [along Hungary Lane].

Holme Pierrepont - Common Buzzard.
Colwick Country Park - Yellow-legged Gull [river boom]. Nature Reserve: 2 Shoveler, Grey Wagtail [stables], Blackcap [female]. Trout Lake: 4 Gadwall, 2 Common Pochard, 4 Red-crested Pochard, 2 Eurasian Wigeon, Mandarin, Black Swan, Kingfisher, Grey Wagtail. Migrant Trap: Chiffchaff.

Collingham - New Workings: 2 Dunlin, 1 Common Greenshank, 5 Green Sandpiper, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Kingfisher.
Clifton Grove - 1 Northern Wheatear [female on the field next to Beeston Weir at 16:15].

Collingham - New Workings: 1 Dunlin, 2 Common Greenshank, 3 Green Sandpiper.
Langford Lowfields - 2 Little Egret.
Kilvington - 1 Yellow-legged Gull [winter adult on new lake].
Bentinck Void - 6 Stonechat.
Netherfield Lagoons - Fishing Pit: 110 Eurasian Wigeon, 55 Gadwall, Swallow [a single to SE]. Slurry Lagoon: 210 Northern Lapwing, 2 Knot, Green Sandpiper, 3 Common Snipe, 28 Shoveler, 14 Eurasian Teal, 5 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 2 Common Gull, Great Black-backed Gull, Grey Wagtail [viaduct].
Stoke Bardolph Sewerage Works - 2 Dunlin, 4 Common Snipe, Sparrowhawk.
