Fri 31st March: Netherfield Lagoons - Reed Warbler [singing-west side of Slurry Lagoon] Willow Warbler [Ouse Dyke], 2 Chiffchaffs, 2 Wheatears [over-NW.], 2 Snipe, 35 Golden Plover, 5 Lapwing, 5 Fieldfare, 27 Sand Martins, 3 Grey Partridge, Grey Wagtail [viaduct], 8 Meadow Pipits, 5 Sky Larks, 1 Wigeon.
Fri 31st March: Netherfield Lagoons - 1 Yellow Wagtail at 1545
Fri 31st March: Lound - 53 Pink-footed Geese were on fields on Clayworth Common from the the 28th. Up to 100 Sand Martins have been seen from the 28th and 1-2 Wheatears

Wed 29th March: Colwick CP - 6 Wigeon, 6 Goldeneye, Water Rail [nature res.] 3 Chiffchaff, Redwings + unconfirmed, second-hand report of a single drake Mandarin Duck on the lake behind Colwick Hall.

Mon 27th March: Dunham Lakes - 6 Sand Martins, greatly reduced numbers of wintering ducks.
Mon 27th March: Attenborough - Scaup x3,Shelduck x2,Chiffchaff x2,Pair of Egyptian geese[with 9 goslings],Snipe x2.
Mon 27th March: Attenborough - 3 Sand Martins, Shelduck (female), 3 Scaup (female), 5 Goosander (3 female, 2 male), 4 Goldeneye (2 male, 2 female), 50+ Shoveler spread around the site.

Sun 26th March: Colwick CP - Rook - c.32 breeding pairs, including 2 pairs on the Old Road, c.70 Fieldfare + a few Redwing mixed in, Water Rail [Penstock Gate - three around the park].
Sun 26th March: Attenborough - 3 Scaup [fems.Main Pond], 12 Goosander [Main Pond], Red-Crested Pochard [fem.Visitor Centre], 3 Oystercatchers [1 Clifton Pit-2 New Wks.], + in the general area.. 5 Egyptian Geese, 7 Green Wood Peckers [3 pairs + odd bod], 33 Meadow Pipits, 40 Sky Larks, 74 Fieldfare.
Sat 25th March: Holme Pierrepont (Botts Pit) - Sand Martin[single]
Sat 25th March: Holme Pierrepont (A52 pit) - 2 Shelduck, Egyptian Goose, Chiffchaff, 7 Lesser Black backed Gulls[over], 14 Fieldfare[over]
Sat 25th March: Attenborough - Sand Martin, 3:40pm, seen adjacent at far end of Eriewash field on River Trent. Pair of Stonechats in Eriewash field
Sat 25th March: Attenborough N.R. - Little owl x 2(roosting on the southside),scaup x 4,oystercatcher x2,pair of buzzards displaying.
Thu 23rd March: Treswell Wood - singing Chiffchaff, Woodcock, Great spotted Woodpecker.

Mon 20th March: Cotgrave CP - Kingfisher along Grantham Canal at its southern end. Large flock of Long tailed tits nearby, one Gadwall on main lake.
Mon 20th March: Colwick CP - 10 Wigeon, 8 Gadwall, Water Rail [Nature Reserve- showing well from the courseway].
Mon 20th March: Bulwell - 25 Waxwings in Camberley Rd by Batleys Cash & Carry.
Sun 19th March: Holme Pierrepont (A52 pit) - c800 Wigeon, 22 Redshank, 80 Fieldfare.
Sun 19th March: Carburton / Welbeck Great Lake - Pair of Mandarin seen at the feeding station by Carburton / Great Lake just down from the Welbeck Raptor WP

Sat 18th March: Kingsmill Reservoir - Adult Mediterranean Gull 09:45 and Male Peregrine
Sat 18th March: Clifton Grove - 2 male Brambling, 50+Siskin, and 1 Lesser Redpoll in the alder plantation. Lesser Spotted Woodpecker heard calling near holme pit. 1 Golden Plover in the weir field with small group of Lapwing, 100+ Fieldfare , 50+Linnet and 2 Egyptian Geese also in the weir field
Sat 18th March: Attenborough - One Redpoll and one female Scaup (Main Pond)
Sat 18th March: Attenborough NR: - 4 Shelduck [1 Works pit, 1 Delta, 2 Clifton Pit], c.30 Goosander, 3 Scaup [females], 4 Egyptian Geese, Western Yellow-Legged Gull [Coneries], Chiff Chaff [Coneries], Merlin [fem. - Delta among the Starlings].
Fri 17th March: Holme Pierrepont - Drake smew with 3 redheads still on finger ponds, stonechat on riverside path upstream of sailing club.
Fri 17th March: Colwick CP - 142 Shoveler, 5 Goldeneye, 11 Wigeon, Redshank, 7 Redwing.
Fri 17th March: Attenborough N.R. - Redhead smew(tween),fem.scaup(main pond).
Thu 16th March: Farnsfield - SW of Farnsfield, 50 Fieldfare, 15 Lesser Redpoll.
Thu 16th March: Bentinck Pit Top - 1 Iceland Gull (1st wint or poss. 2nd wint - viewing curtailed by driving snow!)
Thu 16th March: Attenborough N.R. - Large falcon sp.with jesses (see surfbirds common birds for picture),3 fem.scaup,shelduck and siskin.
Thu 16th March: Annesley Pit Top: - 1 Short-eared Owl, 40 Fieldfare, 30 Eurasian Siskin.
Wed 15th March: Whitemoor {Nottingham] - 14.35 Buzzard passed over Whitemoor Allotments heading North towards Old Basford, mobbed by Gulls.
Wed 15th March: Silverhill Park - Short Eared Owl quartering old pit top 0730 hrs.
Wed 15th March: Rufford CP - 6+ Hawfinches (09:20 to 10:05) around the car park.

Tue 14th March: Holme Pierrepont - drake smew with 3 redheads on finger ponds, 1 redshank, 1 meadow pipit and dozen or so goldeneye on rowing lake, greater spotted woodpecker ticking in top of poplar tree in Blott's grounds, good flock of greenfinch near lock gates numerous redwing and fieldfare in Bassingfield paddock.
Tue 14th March: Clifton - 55 Linnets in the trees between Brandshill and Clifton woods and 2 Stonechats in the adjacent fields to the north.
Tue 14th March: Bulwell - Waxwings still present at Batleys Cash and Carry

Sun 12th March: Clifton Grove - 4 Hawfinch in the alder plantation at 3.30pm. 1 male Brambling & 10 Siskin also in the alder plantation. 21 Eurasian Wigeon [Barton flash], 40+ Grey Heron in the heronry [Branshill wood], 1 male Stonechat near Branshill wood, 60+ Linnet in stubble field near Branshill wood, 3 Shoveler [Holme pit].
Sun 12th March: Bulwell - 25+ Waxwings feeding on bushes outside Cash & Carry at 11.00am. About a dozen Fieldfare in same area at same time.
Sun 12th March: Bestwood - Snipe [Bestwood Pit top], and in the country park -- Coal Tit, Nuthatch, Woodcock [near quarry].

Thu 9th March: Silverhill Park - 2 Short Eared Owls - one perched on 2m conifer gave views down to c50 metres. 1 Redshank south west - singing Greenfinch and Yellowhammer anongst others.
Thu 9th March: Rufford CP - in the main car park area; c.10 Hawfinch, + the white Blackbird.
Thu 9th March: Farnsfield - SW of Farnsfield (Blidworth Road to E of A614), c. 180 Fieldfare, c. 40 Tree Sparrow, 3 Lesser Redpoll.

Thu 9th March: Colwick CP - 8 Goldeneyes, 10 Wigeon, Drake Teal [Nature Reserve], Goldcrest, c.40 Linnet, c.35 Fieldfares.
Thu 9th March: Bulwell, - @12.40; Camberley Road, Bulwell, Nottingham. c15 Waxwings, flying from the top of trees, catching flies then flying back (a bit like spotted flycatchers do).
Thu 9th March: Blidworth Bottoms - 2 Little Owls.
Wed 8th March: Treswell Wood - 1 male Blackcap singing well, Great spotted Woodpecker, Woodcock, Jays.
Wed 8th March: Holme Pierrepont (Blotts Pit) - c1400; Wigeon, pair of Goldeneye (1 male, one female), Sparrowhawk, 80 Fieldfare, 30 Redwing (in stubble field toward hall from Blotts pit).
Wed 8th March: Harlow Wood - 2 Woodcock flushed together, both disappearing into cover, only for one to almost immediately reappear, being pursued (unsuccessfully)by a female Sparrowhaw.
Wed 8th March: Bulwell - c25 Waxwing,at 9:30am on Camberley Road,but very flightly

Mon 6th March: Hockerton - 3 Common Buzzards just outside of Hockerton, top of Wheatgrass Hill on the A617.
Mon 6th March: Colwick CP - Redshank on the lake not far from the bird feeding station where a Kingfisher sat for ages on on a branch.
Mon 6th March: Collingham - Barn Owl at new La Farge workings @ 5pm
Mon 6th March: Attenborough NR - Bittern roosting in Clifton Pit.

Mon 6th March: Attenborough NR - 3 Fem Scaup, Goosander - N end of Main Pit. Gadwall, Fem Goldeneye - Church Pond. Shelduck, Teal, unusually large number of Pheasants - Delta. Small numbers of Sinensis Cormorants dotted around the site, along with greater numbers of normal Cormorants.
Sun 5th March: Rufford Park - 6 Hawfinch in trees near the car park. The white Blackbird showing well near the staff carpark.
Sun 5th March: Owthorpe/Kinoulton - Grantham Canal - Kinoulton to Owthorpe section: 300 Golden Plovers in fields around Vimy Ridge; 2 Little Owls; 1 Buzzard

Sun 5th March: Adbolton - stonechat on fence by river, opposite Colwick Park
Sat 4th March: Rufford Country Park. - Kingfisher, 10 Pied Wagtails, 4 Mistle Thrush, Goldcrest, Female Sparrowhawk, plus the usual.
Sat 4th March: Nottingham - The Peregrines still on the Newton Building, Nottingham
Sat 4th March: Lound - No bird news, but there is another work party planned for tomorrow to clear vegetation off the islands in front of the Chainbridge Scrape viewpoint. This will again cause some disturbance to resident birdlife.
Sat 4th March: Lockwell Hill - Lockwell Hill, near A614 / A617 roundabout. Pair of Common Buzzards being mobbed by Carrion Crows.
Sat 4th March: Farnsfield - 100+ Tree Sparrows - SW of Farnsfield (on road to Blidworth to E of A614).
Sat 4th March: Attenborough NR: - 27 Goosanders, 3 female Scaup [Main Pond], Red head Smew [Tween Pond], Shelduck [Works Pond], 2 Buzzards, Chiffchaff [Clifton Pit], Bittern [Delta-19:59].
Sat 4th March: Attenborough (Erewash Field) - 20 Meadow Pipits, Snipe, Short-Eared Owl [16:30-singleton]
Fri 3rd March: Sutton Bonington - 4 Tree Sparrows by feeder on Landcroft Lane @ 1100.
Fri 3rd March: Nuthall - 1 male Siskin on feeders and bird table at 0715. Associating with a small flock of Goldfinch.
Fri 3rd March: Netherfield Lagoons - Grey Wagtail, Water Rail, Snipe plus 3 Goosanders on the Trent.
Fri 3rd March: Hoveringham - First winter Iceland Gull, and adult Mediterranean Gull in the roost.

Thu 2nd March: Widmerpool - Buzzard sitting in a tree

Thu 2nd March: Farnsfield - South-west of Farnsfield (field cleared of dead sunflowers) on road to Blidworth (to E of A614). 50+ Eurasian Tree Sparrows, 60+ Lesser Redpolls 2+ Common (Mealy) Redpolls.
Thu 2nd March: Collingham GP - 2 Redshanks
Thu 2nd March: Attenborough - Bittern [Opposite Delta hide] 10am, also Shelduck [Delta].
Thu 2nd March: Attenborough - Barn Owl[Observed quartering rough grass area,sth of river,opposite Main Pond]from 16.30 till 17.15,Corn Bunting x11[same area].Scaup x2[main pond].Shelduck x2[clifton pit].Buzzard x2[sth of river].
Wed 1st March: Sherwood Pines FP - At 2.30pm, Common Crossbill (upto 4 birds), both in car park and around visitors centre, drinking from guttering. Also there, large mixed flock of Siskin, Greenfinch, Goldfinch and Chaffinch.
Wed 1st March: Normanton on soar - Crane species seen flying north east on the road between Normanton on soar and Stanford on Soar at 2.30 pm. Seen to land in ditch, in fields too far away for any real detail to be seen. Could it be the Demoiselle Crane seen earlier in week?
Wed 1st March: Lound - 6 female and 2 male Red-crested Pochards on the Parish Lakes off Neatholme Lane. Seemed quite at ease as people walked by some with dogs. Have they fence hopped from Wetlands?
Wed 1st March: Hoveringham - The two Black necked Grebes still present on the sailing Lake.
Wed 1st March: Hockerton - Pair of Bullfinches, 1 Willow Tit and 2 Green Woodpeckers calling from Hockerton Dumble
Wed 1st March: Highbury Vale - Grey wagtail on the River Leen at side of tram stop
Wed 1st March: Bestwood (Mill Lakes) - Jack Snipe, 17 Common Snipes.
Wed 1st March: Attenborough - Two Shelducks [Works Pit]
