Southern Spain Raptor Migration Trip

Howard Boughton writes

I hope to run this trip to Southern Spain to watch Raptors and Storks migrating across the Straits of Gibraltar some time at the end of September 2007. There will also be the opportunity for other birding around local wetlands and for some seawatching if you can keep awake.

The tour will be guided by Josele Saiz of Boletas Birdwatching Centre who will organize the hotel and transport in Spain.

I will book the flights as soon as they come on the market, hopefully East Midlands to Malaga but we have Stansted to Jerez as another possibility. It’s also possible that we might share the trip with another minibus full from Leicester but if one or both of us can fill 2 minibuses, then we will go at a different time. By using an early flight out, and a late flight back, we’ll get four and a half days birding in.

The cost of the Spanish side of the tour will be in the region of £379 per person for 4 nights bed, breakfast and evening meal, all at one hotel. You will just need some cash for lunch and beer etc.

The flights will be on top of this but we will endeavour to buy them as soon as they come on sale so they should hopefully be quite cheap.

If you’re interested, please contact me ASAP. You can also send me your full name as it appears on your passport and full postal address for the online bookings.
