Bennerley Marsh - 160 Northern Lapwing, 15 European Golden Plover, Common Redshank, 60 Eurasian Wigeon, 40 Eurasian Teal, 80 Black-headed Gull, Merlin [female]. Arnot Hill Park - Pond Area: 3 Grey Wagtail, 1 Gadwall [female], 2 Greylag Goose, 2 Canada Goose, 1 Grey Heron [on reed-bed], 12 Goldfinch, 4 Greenfinch, House Sparrow, Dunnock, Great Tit, Blue Tit. Rear Of Civic Centre/Old Railway Line: 1 Green Woodpecker, Great Spotted Woodpecker. Rear Of Old House/Rose Garden: 2 Goldcrest, 30 Redwing, 2 Song Thrush, 50+ Starling, 1 Eurasian Nuthatch, 1 Blackcap. Attenborough Nature Reserve - Delta Hide: 6 Goldfinch, c.300 Fieldfare [south bank of river], 8 Northern Shoveler, 2 Gadwall [male], 6 Tufted Duck, 2 Common Pochard [male], 2 Grey Heron, Bittern [twice over reed-beds], Little Grebe, Great Crested Grebe, Coot, 15 House Sparrow.

Blidworth - Black Redstart [female in garden - present for 3rd week].

Hoveringham - Railway Lake: 5 Red-crested Pochard [3 males & 2 females], 67 Pink-footed Goose [in grassed field on eastern outskirts of village].

Beeston - Barn Owl [Nottingham Canal].

Attenborough Nature Reserve - Visitor Centre: Ruddy Shelduck [unknown origin], White-cheeked Pintail [escape]. Kingfisher Hide: c.10 Tree Sparrow, Sparrowhawk. Tween Pond: 10 Northern Lapwing, 2 Shelduck. Delta Hide: c.15 Northern Shoveler, c.10 Gadwall, 2 Common Pochard, Little Grebe. Cricket Club: c.50 Goldfinch, c.35 Redwing.

Ollerton - 1 Red Kite [east over Ollerton Road - B6034 towards Carburton/Clumber Park at 14:15].

Bestwood Country Park - Pit Tip: c.40 Skylark [flock over south], 1 Woodcock [flushed from path near pit tip pond], c.150 Lesser Redpoll, [in plantation], c.25 Goldfinch [in plantation], c.15 Siskin [in plantation]. Mill Lakes: 1 Goosander [eclipse male on middle part of lake at 09:00 - left at 09:55], 8 Long-tailed Tit, 2 Great Crested Grebe [courtship display], 5+ Common Snipe, [2 on mud island with c.4 circling overhead at north end of lake], 5+ Common Gull, c.40 Siskin [in Alders], c.10 Lesser Redpoll [in Alders], c.20 Goldfinch [in Alders], 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker [drumming near main entrance]. Broad Valley: c.40 Fieldfare [over to south-west], 3+ Reed Bunting [trees behind stables]. Woodland: c.40 Redwing [foraging under Yews between Main Drive And Khalsa Wood], 1 Eurasian Nuthatch [singing near Bluebell Hollow].

Oakham Local Nature Reserve - Field Mill Dam: 1 Common Kingfisher. Bleakhills: 2 Common Kestrel, 1 Green Woodpecker, 10 Bullfinch, Chiffchaff.

Woodborough Park Farm - 3 Brambling [feeding on 10m x 300m set-aside with Chaffinch], c.50 Linnet, c.20 Reed Bunting, c.10 Yellowhammer, 2 Tree Sparrow, 2 Common Buzzard, c.50 Starling, Fieldfare [numerous].

Bestwood Country Park - Mill Lakes: 3 Great Crested Grebe, 1 Goosander [female], 1 Little Grebe, Siskin [large flock - mobile], Lesser Redpoll, Goldfinch.

Bentinck Void - 1 Common Buzzard [hunting - circling low].

Barton-in-Fabis - Short-eared Owl, Merlin, Barn Owl.

Gringley Carr - 9 Twite [Willow Pumping Station side of the river], 2 Common Kestrel, 2 Grey Partridge, 3 Short-eared Owl, Hen Harrier, Little Egret [over west].

Bennerley Marsh - 60 Eurasian Wigeon, 24 Eurasian Teal, 60 Northern Lapwing, Woodcock, 80 Black-headed Gull, Sparrowhawk. Chat Corner: Barn Owl, Tawny Owl [calling], 5 Common Snipe, 2 Common Pheasant, 2 Skylark, 2 Eurasian Teal. North Marsh:. 6 Common Snipe, 2 Reed Bunting, Common Kestrel.

Bennerley Marsh - 80 Eurasian Wigeon, 35 Eurasian Teal, 90 Northern Lapwing, 200 Black-headed Gull, Sparrowhawk, 2 Green Woodpecker. Chat Corner:. Short-eared Owl [15:16], Barn Owl [16:12], 4 Common Snipe, 4 Green Woodpecker, Common Kestrel, 120 Jackdaw.

Brackenhurst - Sheepwalks Pond: Red Kite [came from west being mobbed. Headed south over Halloughton Dumble towards Bleasby.

Kings Mll Reservoir - 5 Whooper Swan.

Bennerley Marsh - 70 Northern Lapwing, 50 Eurasian Wigeon, 15 Eurasian Teal. 2 Cormorant, 70 Black-headed Gull. Chat Corner: 3 Common Snipe, Skylark, 2 Common Kestrel.

Arnot Hill Park - Pond & Overflow Area: 2 Grey Wagtail, 45 Black-headed Gull, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 1 Blackcap, 16 Goldfinch, 13 Greenfinch, 1 Gadwall [female], 2 Greylag Goose, 4 Canada Goose, 39 Tufted Duck, 2 Common Pochard, 17 Red-crested Pochard [mix of feral and wild birds], 1 Grey Heron, 8 Long-tailed Tit. Rear Of Old House/Rose Garden: 1 Jay, 18 Great Tit, 21 Blue Tit, 18 Greenfinch, 36 Chaffinch, 1 Goldcrest, 40 Redwing, 1 Song Thrush, 1 Eurasian Nuthatch, 23 Woodpigeon, 39 Collared Dove [flock], 6 Magpie, 4 Wren, 50+ Starling. Water Treatment Works: 50 Pied Wagtail, 40 Jackdaw, 60 Black-headed Gull, 2 Eurasian Teal, 6 Bullfinch. Main Marsh: 60 Northern Lapwing, 70 Black-headed Gull, 25 Eurasian Teal, 10 Eurasian Wigeon, 5 Northern Shoveler.

Arnot Hill Park - Pond Area: 45 Tufted Duck, 1 Gadwall [female], 3 Grey Wagtail, 28 Moorhen, 27 Greenfinch, 2 Canada Goose, 2 Greylag Goose, 15 Red-crested Pochard [mix of wild and feral birds], 1 Blackcap, 1 Common Buzzard [high over]. Rear of Old House/Rose Garden: 38 Redwing, 12 Chaffinch, 2 Magpie, 6 Wren, 3 Goldcrest, 5 Mistle Thrush, 2 Song Thrush, 2 Jackdaw, Dunnock, Robin, Blackbird, Goldfinch, Greenfinch, Woodpigeon, Collared Dove, Carrion Crow, House Sparrow.

Attenborough Nature Reserve - Clifton Pond: 1 Northern Pintail [male on Gull Island], c.3 Bittern [2 flying together possibly a third present], 2 Water Rail [calling in reeds], 24 Common Goldeneye [together on pond], 40 Eurasian Wigeon.

Lowdham - Common Crossbill [in garden].

Bennerley Marsh - 130 Eurasian Wigeon, 40 Eurasian Teal, 160 Northern Lapwing, Common Snipe, 30 Black-headed Gull, Common Kestrel. Chat Corner: Short-eared Owl, Common Snipe, 2 Common Pheasant, 2 Grey Partridge, 5 Fieldfare. Water Treatment Works: Grey Wagtail, 25 Long-tailed Tit.

Burton Joyce - 40+ Pink-footed Goose [west], Tree Sparrow [garden feeder].

Welbeck Lakes - Greater White-fronted Goose [bird of unknown origin], Treecreeper, Marsh Tit.

Bestwood Country Park - Mill Lakes: c.20 House Sparrow, c.100 Lesser Redpoll, c.25 Greylag Goose, c.30 Goldfinch. Pit Tip: Common Kestrel, 3 Green Woodpecker. Woodland: Eurasian Nuthatch, 2 Firecrest [showing well in large fir tree], 1 Treecreeper

Blidworth - 7 Yellowhammer [5 males], 1 Tree Sparrow, 50+ Chaffinch, 1 Greenfinch.

Rufford Country Park- 1 Willow Tit, Great Tit, Blue Tit, Long-tailed Tit [large mixed flock around Ice House], 3 Eurasian Nuthatch, 5 Treecreeper, 3 Jay.

Fri 12th Feb

Kirkby-in-Ashfield - c.150 Pink-footed Goose [west over town].

Bennerley Marsh - 70 Eurasian Wigeon, 20 Eurasian Teal, 3 Northern Shoveler, 60 Northern Lapwing, 60 Black-headed Gull. Chat Corner: Common Buzzard, Sparrowhawk, 8 Common Snipe. North Marsh: Jack Snipe, 6 Common Snipe, Common Buzzard.

Newark - c.700 Pink-footed Goose [2 skeins over town centre - c.450 at 09:30 and c.250 at 10:16].

Nottingham - 1 Red-crested Pochard [drake with Mallards on canal behind Fellows, Morton and Clayton].

Thu 11th Feb

Welbeck Lakes - Willow Tit, Common Buzzard.

Beeston - Barn Owl [Nottingham Canal].

Stoke Bardolph - 2 Little Egret [in dyke at the side of the road below the water treatment plant between Netherfield and Burton Joyce].

Bennerley Marsh - 62 Eurasian Wigeon, 30 Eurasian Teal, 60 Northern Lapwing, 2 Jack Snipe, 90 Black-headed Gull, 2 Common Gull, Common Kestrel. Chat Corner: 3 Common Snipe, Meadow Pipit, Common Kestrel.

Nottingham Canal - Chiffchaff, 7 Redwing.

Wollaton Park - 2 Great Spotted Woodpecker, Eurasian Nuthatch [numerous], 4 Jay [1 in woodland next to lake, 3 in gardens], c.200 Redwing [sports fields], Lake: 2 Common Gull, Black-headed Gull, Common Pochard, Eurasian Wigeon, Gadwall, Grey Heron.

Mon 8th Feb

Cresswell - 2 Common Buzzards [being mobbed by a large falcon].

Lambley - 3 Little Egret [by Cocker Beck].

Sun 7th Feb

Clumber Park - 3 Hawfinch [near Chapel].

Misson - 20 Northern Pintail [Slaynes Lane].

Rufford Country Park - 1 Firecrest [walk away from the Ice House down the path opposite, follow a small muddy path on the right, before you reach Broad Ride. Virtually immediately on the left down this path are two conifers - Firecrest found here around 10:30], 3 Goldcrest, 2 Marsh Tit, 2 Treecreeper, 2 Jay, 3 Goosander [2 males and 1 female].

Bennerley Marsh - 45 Eurasian Teal, 40 Eurasian Wigeon, 5 Northern Shoveler, 120 Northern Lapwing, 200 Black-headed Gull, 4 Common Gull, Yellow-legged Gull. Chat Corner: 5 Goosander [over], 2 Green Woodpecker, Common Kestrel.

Gringley Carr & Idle Stop - 1 Merlin, 3 Short-eared Owl, Hen Harrier [female], 3 Common Buzzard, Barn Owl, 2 Common Kestrel.

Oxton Estate - 50+ Northern Lapwing, 50+ Fieldfare, 10 Grey Partridge, 200 Pink-footed Goose [2 groups to west].

Dorket Head - 150+ Northern Lapwing [field below brickworks].

Bestwood Country Park - Mill Lakes: 100+ Lesser Redpoll, 50+ Siskin. Leen Pastures: 1 Woodcock, c.30 Lesser Redpoll, 200+ Siskin, 1 Reed Bunting.

Sat 6th Feb

Welbeck Lakes - Mandarin Duck [male], 5 Goosander, Common Buzzard, Sparrowhawk, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Common Pochard.

Fri 5th Feb

Hoveringham Gravel Pits - 1 Red-necked Grebe [still on Railway Lake and showing well], 1 Little Egret, 2 Pink-footed Goose [flew north-east], 3 Great Black-backed Gull, 20+ Redwing, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker.

Bennerley Marsh - 70 Eurasian Wigeon, 35 Eurasian Teal, 5 Northern Shoveler, 3 Goosander, 65 Northern Lapwing, 70 Black-headed Gull, 3 Meadow Pipit, Green Woodpecker. Chat Corner: 2 Common Snipe, 2 Reed Bunting, 5 Skylark, 2 Common Kestrel, 2 Green Woodpecker, 10 Fieldfare, 150 Jackdaw, 9 Eurasian Teal [river Erewash]. North Marsh: 7 Common Snipe, Water Rail, 2 Goosander [over], Little Grebe.

Eastwood - Tinsley Lane 28 Redwing, Merlin [male].

Tue 2nd Feb

Hoveringham Gravel Pits - Red-necked Grebe, 2 Little Egret, 4 Red-crested Pochard, 24 Common Goldeneye [including one female reported to look ‘slightly different’ to others with a thicker white line on body/head] .

Rufford Country Park - Firecrest, 3 Treecreeper, Great Spotted Woodpecker, 2 Marsh Tit, Coal Tit, Jay.
